Sam Jones is an award winning photographer, director, and television host. He hosts Directv's "Off camera with Sam Jones" where he has laid back long form conversations with guests like Will Ferrell, Matt Damon, and Robert Downey Jr. to name a few. To say that Sam has been a successful photographer would be like saying that Michael Jordan was a good basketball player, a great understatement indeed. Sam's portraits feature individuals like president Barack Obama, George Clooney, Bob Dylan, and Jack Nicholson. His photographs have appeared on the cover of magazines like Rolling Stone, Time, Esquire, and GQ. He has also directed a number of different music groups and artists including The Foo Fighters, Mumford and Sons, John Mayer, Wilco and Tom Petty.
Despite all of this success, Sam remains humble and down to earth. Maybe thats what makes his show so successful. You can't help but remain disarmed and causal with Sam. On his show, Sam often sports a pair of Vans skate shoes as he sticks to his So-Cal roots. His calm and laid back demeanor makes his guests relax like they were sharing a glass of wine with an old friend.
Sam has had a profound influence on me in a number of ways and I hope Sam will inspire you to pursue your dreams and never compare yourself with others as he recommends. In this episode, Sam shares specific moments in his career that one might not know about. There was the time when he wrote the band Wilco a four page letter explaining why it would be a good idea to create a documentary with Sam behind the camera. It is little facts and stories like these that makes Sam's journey so fascinating. I think you will enjoy this interview, I know I did.
This is the second installment of the solo-cast that I am doing featuring advice on certain topics that may help individuals in certain areas of life, especially the day to day the struggles most of us face like failure or fear of others opinions. This episode is dedicated to anyone that has failed or wanted to give up in life. In this episode I apologize openly about the consistently of the podcast and some family tragedies that I actually caused myself. I also thank the loyal supporters of the show and the reviews that they have left me that encourage me even when I am down myself.
Thank you all.

Bitcoin. Everyone and their mother has heard of it, some people have invested in it and have actually become over night millionaires. Others say that it is a scam and a pyramid scheme. The price of a single Bitcoin now hovers around $4,700. Beginners are now starting to buy only a fraction of a coin because of the steep price. However, depending on who you ask this may be a discount compared to what we might see in the future. The future of cryptocurrency is both exciting and scary. Could this be the second coming of the internet?
As exciting as Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrenises are, there is also a lot of specuatltion and fear surrounding the asset class. I wanted to get an excellent authority on The Reed Harvey Show to explain Bitcoin to set the record straight regarding the coin.
Introducing Bitcoin authority Trace Mayer. Trace maybe one of the smartest people that I have spoken with in a long long time. Trace is an entrepreneur, investor, journalist, and monetary scientist. He holds a degree in accounting and a law degree. He is the podcast host of the very popular Bitcoin Knowledge Podcast. Trace is recognized in the Bitcoin community as a trustworthy authority. It is safe to say Trace knows exactly what he is talking about.
Trace was publicly advocating Bitcoin when it cost 25 cents. He was a very early investor in many large Bitcoin Startup companies.
In this interview we cover the past, present and future of the monetary system and why the world may need Bitcoin in the future.

I recently had the chance to sit down with front-man and lead singer of the Punk-Rock super group Me First and The Gimme Gimme's, Spike Slawson. Spike's candor and honestly were brought to the forefront. We had a great conversation ranging from how a musician can make a living to how The Eagles and The Gimmes have a mutual dislike for one another, (which I found very entertaining.) The Gimmies are a cover band that recreates hits from all different genres ranging from the 60's and 70's oldies to R&B classics. Each album they release focuses on a different genre of music that they infuse with punk-rock.
The Gimmes are sort of an all-star band consisting of four different bands. Joey Cape, Dave Raun from the band Lagwagon, Mike Burkette (Aka Fat Mike) from NOFX, Spike Slawson formerly from the Swingin' Utters, and finally Chris Shiflette from The Foo Fighters.
Our interview was recorded in the back office of a venue in Scottsdale, Arizona where the Gimmes were playing that night. Please pardon the sound quality on parts of the interview since they were doing a sound check during the interview. I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I did!

How To Hang Out With Self-Made Millionaires
A while ago I read an article written by one of my friends and favorite podcast guests Cody Shirk. He wrote the article as an answer to a question he was asked.
"Where do I hang out with self-made millionaires," the person asked.
Cody wrote back. He said that every night he used to spend time with Dale Carnegie, Warren Buffet, and Napoleon Hill. He soaked up their insight like a dry sponge thrown into water. He would not say a word and all he would do was listen.
Well, how is that possible?
Books.
Books are like personal letters that contain concentrated advice straight from a trustworthy source.
Cody stated that he didn't have a group of millionaires to hang out with. So he decided to make his own. He was a fly on their wall and absorbed what they shared. Everything from real estate, value investing, history, and any piece of information he could get his hands on.
Well, today, you can start your knowledge building with a FREE Audio Book from Audible.com. By heading over to audibletrial.com/reed. There you can download and keep any Audio Book that you want. The best part is it's free!
So be like Cody and start listening today! Maybe someday you will be a self-made millionaire too!
